Thanks for Visiting! Here I really don't want to give so much information about myself, as I would like to show you who I am. That may sound strange, but my goal is to give you a better sense of my personality with samples of my written works. When you see something in this site that you don't understand, you can submit an entry in the feedback form and I'll get back to you. Remember, when reading an item located here, don't think so much of the item itself, but try to imagine what my motivation may have been for creating such a thing. For warm up, why on earth did I choose this background?
My name is Steve. I currently live in Sterling, Colorado. There are no mountains here, but we do get a lot of snow, and I hate it. :-) But I'll deal with it none the less. I moved to this general area when I was sixteen years old, and finished my last two years of high school at a little K-12 country school. Shortly after I graduated, I landed a great job at the ISP I currently work for. (You can visit our web site at kci.net for more details on the company itself.) I love my work there. I have learned so much in the last several months, and the time I have spent there is as invaluable to me as the relationships I have built with my coworkers. I attend a small Assembly of God Church in Sterling named (ironically) First Assembly of God of Sterling. Even though I'm nineteen now (and sometimes joke with them how I feel very old) I still participate in all of the youth activities as much as possible. I try to give those in the youth group a feeling of acceptance when they are in the group or around me, and I hope that I can make a positive difference in their lives. I feel that we as people have all been created with certain rights and certain responsibilities. The most important of these is the right to be loved and accepted, and the responsibility to love and accept (and to always forgive). We also have the responsibility to work as hard as we are able and take care of our selves. If it were possible to never sleep and not get tired, who would do it? I think I would certainly try. If I could find the time in a day to spend it with my friends, giving them the attention I want them to have because they are so important to me, then attend to the duties of keeping a clean house (mostly my computer hole :-P ) and still have the hours I desire to study and train to excel in my job, I would be so burned out on life in general, I would have to sleep anyway just to get away from it all! I find that perhaps, doing everything is not the answer. And it certainly isn't possible. Ultimately, we have to find fulfillment in ourselves. That means that no matter what we do, happiness is a state of mind, not a state of motion or action. I've often thought, how am I going to feel when I'm ninety years old, and cant work anymore? Where is my fulfillment then? Did I loose it along with my career? I pray that doesn't happen. Instead of filling those gaps with work, or toys, or activities, (even though I do seem to have a lot of them :-) ), I try to find happiness with my Christianity. I know it sounds weird, like just another "thing" I'm trying to stick in a big hole in my life, trying to find purpose or happiness. Like Jesus is the latest "Gold Rush" or something. Well, my explanation is really simple: I believe my Christianity is the only thing that will last forever. If it lasts forever, then I can find permanent fulfillment in it. It scares me to think what I'm going to do when I'm no longer able to perform in a workplace environment doing what I love. I love working with Information Technology. And I know that day is coming when I cant do it. Whether I get too old to function, or computer become outdated with something else, someday I wont do it anymore. So I suppose that is sufficient. If you actualy made it through that whole thing, you now know where I work, where I live, where I go to church, my age, and the sources of my greatest fears and joys. That seems to be plenty of introduction. :-) If you would like to contact me for further questions or whatever, check out the feedback page. Thanks for reading!
